- Have policies in place to support pupils through referrals to specialists.
- Know what local and national help and support is available out of school.
Pastoral Care is becoming more and more crucial in schools because of the range of pressures and dangers that young people now face. My role is to ensure the physical and emotional welfare of all our pupils, making sure they are safe, happy, involved and can perform to their full potential. By supporting our pupils through the delivery of their curriculum which meets their needs in turn will improve their attendance, retention and enhance their achievements and willingness to work hard.
Effective pastoral and Mental Health care supports young people in their natural progression and helps develop their self-esteem, social skills, and ability to cope with stress. It’s key that every pupil in our school has someone they can talk to, feel comfortable with while ensuring their time here at Broadstones School is fulfilling and as stress free as possible.
